Pantry Privacy Policy
Last updated: 13 October 2026
This privacy policy explains in plain language what data Pantry uses, where it's stored and what rights you have. We keep it short and honest.
Who is responsible?
Jannes Digital Crafts (Jannes van den Bogert), Driestapelenhof 4, 5171 VN Kaatsheuvel, the Netherlands, is responsible for the processing of data within Pantry.
Questions or comments? Email support@jannesdigitalcrafts.nl.
What data does Pantry use?
Pantry keeps track of the data you enter yourself: product names, quantities, locations (such as fridge or freezer), best-before dates and your shopping list.
If you share a household, Pantry also keeps track of who is a member of that household, so the shared stock and shopping list reach the right people.
Where is your data stored?
Your data is stored on your device and in your own iCloud account, via Apple CloudKit. Jannes Digital Crafts has no access to this data and does not receive it: we don't run a server that your stock or shopping list passes through.
For how Apple processes data within iCloud, please see Apple's privacy policy.
Who can see your data?
If you share a household, the members you invite see the shared stock and shopping list. This happens through iCloud sharing, not through our servers.
Anyone who leaves the household, or is removed from it, immediately loses access to the shared data.
Notifications
Notifications about products that are about to expire are local notifications scheduled by your own device. They don't go through our servers, and we don't see which notifications you receive.
What we don't do
We don't show ads in Pantry, don't track you across other apps or websites, don't sell data to third parties, and don't use analytics or tracking software.
Keeping and deleting data
Because your data lives in your own iCloud account, you decide how long it's kept. You can delete data by removing products in the app, by leaving your household, or by deleting the app.
You can also manage Pantry's iCloud storage from your device, under Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Manage Storage.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct and delete your data, and you can object to its processing. Because your data lives in your own iCloud account, you largely handle access, correction and deletion yourself, in the app or via your Apple account.
Have a complaint about how we handle your data? Email us first at support@jannesdigitalcrafts.nl. You can also file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
Children
Pantry is not specifically directed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect data from children under that age.
Changes
We may update this privacy policy, for example when Pantry gets new features. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
