Kiddo Privacy Policy
Last updated: 15 October 2026
This privacy policy explains in plain language what data Kiddo uses, where it's stored and what rights you have. Kiddo is about your child's early years, so we take this extra seriously. We keep it short and honest.
Who is responsible?
Jannes Digital Crafts (Jannes van den Bogert), Driestapelenhof 4, 5171 VN Kaatsheuvel, the Netherlands, is responsible for the processing of data within Kiddo.
Questions or comments? Email support@jannesdigitalcrafts.nl.
Who uses Kiddo?
Kiddo is intended for parents and expecting parents. You create your own account (through your Apple account) and fill in the app about your child, or about yourself during pregnancy. Kiddo is not intended to be used by children themselves.
What data does Kiddo use?
Kiddo keeps track of the data you enter yourself: your child's name and birth or due date, photos and videos, titles and notes on moments, milestones, growth measurements (height and weight), pregnancy weeks and bump photos, appointments and health reminders (such as vaccinations), and letters to your child.
If you add more than one child, Kiddo keeps each child's data separate.
Where is your data stored?
Your data is stored on your device and in your own iCloud account, via Apple CloudKit. Jannes Digital Crafts has no access to this data and does not receive it: we don't run a server that your child's photos, videos or other data pass through.
For how Apple processes data within iCloud, please see Apple's privacy policy.
Who can see your data?
In this version of Kiddo, your data is only visible on your own devices, through your own iCloud account. There's no feature yet to add a partner or family member as a separate user; if you want someone else to see it, you currently arrange that outside the app, for example by sharing the same Apple account or by exporting and sharing your book.
Kiddo Plus and payments
Kiddo Plus is an optional subscription or one-time purchase, handled through Apple's App Store (StoreKit). Payment details such as your card or bank information go directly to Apple; Jannes Digital Crafts never sees or stores this information. We only receive from Apple whether or not you have a valid Kiddo Plus subscription.
Exporting your book
You can export your data to a file on your own device at any time (Settings > Export your book). Kiddo creates this file entirely on your own device; it doesn't go through our servers and we never see its contents.
Notifications
Future reminders (such as "time for the monthly photo") are local notifications scheduled by your own device. They don't go through our servers, and we don't see which notifications you receive.
What we don't do
We don't show ads in Kiddo, don't track you across other apps or websites, don't sell data to third parties, and don't use analytics or tracking software. Kiddo doesn't include third-party software that processes your child's photos, videos or other data.
Keeping and deleting data
Because your data lives in your own iCloud account, you decide how long it's kept. You can delete a child's data by removing that child in the app (via "Edit [name]"), or delete everything by deleting the app.
You can also manage Kiddo's iCloud storage from your device, under Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Manage Storage.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct and delete your data, and you can object to its processing. Because your data lives in your own iCloud account, you largely handle access, correction and deletion yourself, in the app or via your Apple account.
Have a complaint about how we handle your data? Email us first at support@jannesdigitalcrafts.nl. You can also file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
Your child's data
Kiddo revolves around photos, videos and information about your child, entered by you as a parent or caregiver. Your child doesn't use the app themselves, and Kiddo doesn't collect data directly from children: everything kept about your child is entered and managed by you as the account holder.
Kiddo is not directed at use by children under 16 as users of the app, and we don't knowingly collect data directly from children under that age.
Changes
We may update this privacy policy, for example when Kiddo gets new features such as sharing with a partner or family. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
